My 2.5 yo DS, who we are in the process of toilet training, is constantly playing with himself  Even when he is wearing pants and a diaper, he sticks his hand down his diaper. I haven't made a big deal about it, because I don't want it to become a big deal. Should I just continue to ignore it, and eventually this phase will pass, or should I be doing something about it?

Should I just continue to ignore it, and eventually this phase will pass, or should I be doing something about it? | Maybe I'm wrong, but when a kid sticks his hands inside his diaper, I tell him/her not to, its gross and full of pee/poo and dirty (I've seen kids stick their hands in poopie diapers and its nasty, so I think "hands don't belong in diapers" is an ok rule and nothing intrinsically saying "touching your private parts is bad".) I don't comment when my son is not wearing a diaper and touching himself, though I will ask if he has to pee if I see he is holding himself a lot. But if he says no, I leave it at that.
