Losing socks in washing machines?

How many of you every lost socks in a washing machine.
I'm married years and I don't think my husband ever forgave me for losing his chasunah socks in the first wash I did.

Here's a poll to prove him I'm not the only one (I think)

I've lost many socks in the washing machine.
I think there's one stuck in between the drum and the machine, which I can't get out.
No to self: time for netbags!

I don't think the socks vanish in the machine, it rather gets stuck in the back of the washer dryer or in a pillow case. I always hang on to the single sock and I always find it within the year before pesach, or when I need to pull out my dryer to get it fixed.

It is the monster who lives in the washing machine.
It eats the socks.
because we always put pairs in to the wash, but then single socks are left after sorting the dry wash.

The sock eating monster lives behing the washing machine...

I finally gave up and now just consider socks as consumables. Once a year I get each kid a new big bag of socks.
