Ordering a custom-made puzzle

I would like to order a puzzle for my husband-he keeps saying that he wants to buy one, but we can't find one that is nice enough that I would want to hang it on the wall, so I thought I could try order one that is a picture of us, or our baby.

Can anyone give me recommendations of a good website to use? they seem to be expensive, and I don't want to spend that much money on something if I don't know what the quality is.

Also, what is a good number of peices? the 1000+ ones are so expensive. Is a 750 peice puzzle okay for an adult?

A friend of mine ordered one for me in France. It was about 575 pieces for $24.
I did the family picture from a wedding.
That was by far the most fun puzzle I've done.
Imagine.... a puzzle piece that has a picture of an eye and half a nose on it. And you need to figure out who in the family that eye belongs to.
Although it was fun, I finished it in less than 2 hours. So I would definitely go for a bigger one.
I would say to go for the 1000-piece.
