According to one of our friends (who DOES work on a dairy farm, not a kibbutz), everything is automated. During the week the Jewish guys go in the morning, hook up the cows, and push the button to start the milking. On Shabbat they have non-Jews do the process UNDER SUPERVISION. Yes, the guy supervising is shomer shabbat. No, he does not push the button. The opinion that the regular milk is only a problem on certain days of the week has it's root in the Shabbat question. So those that keep mehadrin either only buy mehadrin milk, or they do not buy the regular milk until after Tuesday.

Either way, it's not a CY issue but a Shabbat one. Fresh dairy products (yogurt, cheese) which are marked as containing chalav akum do so because, like the chocolates & candy, there is some milk powder mixed in.

And as I said, many rabbonim hold that non CY milk powder is chalav akum in every way, especially those who hold mehadrin.

Tara is always Aguda. Tenuva you do need to check if the store does not cater to a predominately dati or charedi crowd. Take a look at the chalavi in the super in Azrieli or Kenyan HaGadol in PT and you will see that things that have hechsherim in most of the country do not here. Things like regular yellow cheese, milk and yogurts.

When we had our store tenuva once called and said there was a shortage in mehadrin milk and do we want the other milk. We said no and had no milk for several days. I doubt that Mega or supersal would do the same. I doubt even that yesh would.

afaik- tenuva yerushalayim always has a mehadrin, even if it is milked on shabbos. it has an edah charadit hechsher. milk from the other tenuva plants only have a mehadrin if its not milked on shabbos. but it is all chalav yisrael

(heard from someone who was in contact with r' weitman, rav of tenuva)

Tenuva Yerushalayim doesn't get any of the milk milked on Shabbat, which is why their milk always has eidah chareidit.

from what I last heard, and it was about a year and a half ago, tenuva yerushalayim gets millk from nir galim, they provide milk that was milked on shabbos. it still gets an eidah hechsher. it was worked out with the badatz, the kibbutz, and tenuva, exactly which halachically acceptable method would be used.
and this was heard directly from the rav of nir galim.
where does the milk come from on sunday, monday, teusday, in yerushalayim if it was not milked on shabbos?
so I guess it could have changed , but this was fact a year and a hlaf ago.
(not trying to cause controversy, just saying what I heard)
