I will probably be getting a $50 CVS card in the near future and want to make a master list of what to spend it on.

Does anyone have such a list they'd like to share ?

I don't have such a list but I do have ideas. Plus $50 is really not that much in terms of pharmacy items.

Here goes:

soap
shampoo
conditioner
shavers
shaving cream
toothbrushes
toothpaste
q-tips
detergent
pretzels or the like on sale
makeup products
face wash
moisturizer
cotton balls

Just a start

Actually, I get all of those things at Family Dollar or a discount pharm. for cheaper than CVS would charge.

I'm gonna buy tampons, because I don't like the discount tampons. I would buy floss, too (only I just bought that). I don't need that many tampons or that much floss, either. I need a certain kind of deodorant, but certainly not $50 worth. All of that must be at least $30., but I'll still need to spend the rest......

Can you hold on to the card until you really need it or use part of it now and part later? Or will it expire?

If you buy makeup, you'll use it up pretty fast. At around 10 bucks each, you can get 5 new items.

yup 50$ sounds like lots to me too.
but I could easily run through that money without getting all the things I needed.
and the gift card would be forgotten in a week
I say spend at least some of it on something special for yourself , cosmetics magazines...
or get something u can share with ur husband like a foot spa and do each other a pedicure, or lotions and a scented candle and do each other masages.

unless u need the money now
in that case get the best bang for ur buck and with a bit of the money uve saved buy a container of ice cream, sprinkles, and whip ($10 ?) and celebrate with ice cream sundays-

bottom line - if you make it fun the money will go much farther.

I guess I could look around ... I am a little afraid of losing the card, actually. That's why I thought I'd make this thread.

But yeah, hair stuff does add up. I think that's the rest of my 50 right there !!!

Duane Reade has the rewards program where I get $5 for every $100 I spend. I always use the bonus on something I'd enjoy, usually a new bottle of nail polish or an item of makeup.

Buying brand name items instead of the cheaper ones you buy usually is a great idea.

Right, I could play around with $5 and get soda or a magazine. $50 is too much to squandor.

Anyway, I'm only getting the card to use for things I can't find cheaper. I'm not really looking for fun, I'm looking for practicality.

It's from my Discover card Reward Points - forty points buys a $50 card. I could have taken less in cash, lechatchila.
