Closets that are closed

hi I was wondering about the closets or cabinets that im closing for pesach, do I need to thouroughly clean them?

Only if you know they can have chometz in it.

If I sell them, I don't clean them. I'm Lubavitch and we sell actual chametz though.

Yes, I also sell almost anything I don't want to clean, and also our rabbonim let us sell actual chametz. My dh said he learned in yeshiva that the loshon of our sale basically would allow us to sell a whole warehouse of bread in theory. (We've no warehouse, let alone one full of bread.)
