keep in mind that the peg peregos are double the price of the graco, so even if the graco breaks after 5 yrs and you buy an new one you are still spending the same amount of money. I would rather get 2 gracos for the price of one p.p. cuz then after 5 yrs you get a brand new stroller!
also another thing to consider, I know its early but IY"H when you are looking for a double stroller, in my opinion the graco douglider is the best and you will want a graco infant seat so it can snap into the double.
I know friends who would love to get the graco double but they have a diff brand carseat and it wouldnt snap in, so they settle for something less.
my not so humble suggestion is to go with the graco metro lite. it sounds like most pp here are happy with it, and by getting the graco carseat you are all set for the future too. plus I'm pretty sure that the graco carseat is much lighter than the expensive brands.
I have a diff. graco stroller thats heavier and wider than the metro lite b/c it was cheaper, but I wish I would have spent a little more for a lighter stroller=the metrolite.
anyway I use my double way more often than my single so I hardly even use my single anymore.

Here's a suggestion for you Queen, why don't you buy it off ebay? You can buy many diff. types of new strollers off of ebay store which have great warrenties ect. and it's new & much cheaper than the store. I personally don't like graco, find it is very cheaply made (seen from friends experiences). I personally love my perego Pliko, has an excellent sun roof, goes down well, light, folds like an umbr., & has a foot rest for when the're older (zippy is good to but they seen to have the feet dangling) also there is the attached buggy board that if you were to buy is like $100! Though I would never recommend a perego for a double, that definately a jogger. Or you could go witht the Schwinn jogger excellent in a double but don't know how it is in a single though. GOOD LUCK!

elisecohen I disagree with you. I had a baby the same time as my best friend. she bought a graco and I bought a peg perego atlantico. mine looks great, and hers is broken.
I have another friend with a graco who told me that hers doesn't have a five point harness and her child fell out from the side of the stroller that I have noticed on other ppls has no wall.
no, I didn't buy it to "keep up with the Kastz's".- trust me, where I live no1 would spend a lot of money on a stroller.
dh is the worlds best researcher and it suited our needs, we are soooo happy with it, and would buy it again!

My good friend bought peg perego pliko and plastic side pieces have broken from it. Graco strollers newer kinds do have 3 or 5 pt harness option
It also depends on how well one treats the stroller too u know Confused

I'm stroller "obsessed"-as my SIL says.
I don't drive, so my strollers get a lot of use!
I got Chicco Trekking 5 years ago and use it every day still.
It's not sold in US anymore, but you can get it in Europe.
My strollers are:
Evenflo/car seat combo:HUGE basket on the bottom, great tray for parent and baby with cup holder. cons: 3 point restraint only, doesn't recline completely, non-removable lining.
Chicco: full recline, machine washable pads, removable hood, built in rain cover (never forget it again when it rains), light; cons:small basket, no child/parent trays.
Sit-N-Stroll: Amazing if you use car service/cab or fly a lot.
I also own 2 double strollers Shocked
My next stroller will be Chicco C1-hopefully, soon Laughing
HTH!

I told my siblings that if anyone (who has means, and would want to spend that kind of $ on us) asks them what to get us as a baby gift to mention about the inglesina zippy stroller. blue and white pattern Smile

We love the ease of folding them and the sturdyness compared to an american graco stroller. Strollers are something one tends to use ALL the time, and worthwhile to invest in. although I do agree, it is a lot of money.

anyhow, for the first 6 months a snap & go will be what we'll use. we'll make the final stroller decision at that point.

Ok here is my dilemma, my strollers hood just broke, leaving it useless. In addition the seat is starting to rip and the rip keeps getting bigger. I can get it repaired for $150, it cost me $300 orignally.

Should I get it repaired, or look for a cheaper stroller? I have a seventeen month old so he can technically go into an umbrella stroller with no bar.

What are some light stroller out there, that are easy to push, (no gracos please)

I would call the company and complain. They might send you a new one.

Combis are very light weight and fold very small, but I find they are not as sturdy. I guess that's the tradeoff for a lightweight. Depending on the model, they are not really expensive.

So okay I wont tell you about my graco citisport ( really narrow )which I love for its ability to use in crowded pizza stores and large basket, The best umbrella stroller I ever used is the chicco, even has a hooked on rain cover in a pouch.

That's a good stroller- I don't understand why it broke.

I would invest in a maclaren, they are the strongest.
