I'm going to try an experiment with my kids this week. I'm tired of making supper and they eat 2 bites, so this week...sandwiches Tongue Out !! I'm going to get different things they can put in the sandwich and that's it. It will probably backfire and they'll love it. On the bright side, I won't have to make supper anymore. LOL

I guess this is off topic but I'm always looking for sandwich ideas for when I am on the run with Benny.

When my kids were younger, their favorite dinner was "sandwich triangles" I would make tuna, cheese, pb, cucumber sandwiches. I would cut them into quarters (triangle ones) and pile the plate with what looked like tons of little sandwiches. The kids who would never eat a whole sandwich ended up eating tons when it was prepared this way. Often I would send them into the yard with a blanket to eat them so they really had a good time.

We also called the sandwiches unusual names, for example, they called the cucumber sandwich a frog sandwich.

Change of menu: tomorrow will be beef pad thai. Guess what? We had a lot left over and dh took the opportunity to clarify that he is NOT a vegetarian and that meat is sorely missing from the dish. So we agreed that he would go to the butcher tomorrow and pick up some meat and I would marinate it, stir-fry it and add it to the leftovers. Saves me cooking a meal tomorrow. Very Happy

hehe but they all take under a half hour to prepare. Anything longer I don't have time for!

potatoes
sweet potatoes
carrots
celery
squash
zucchini
meat
onions
chopped garlic
tomato paste
ketchup
bbq sauce
salt
pepper
beef broth
sometimes a little teriyaki sauce or coke

I saute the onions, brown the meat, peel and cut up vegetables, put into crockpot, add other ingredients, cover with water, put on low the night before. I add more water if I see it's necessary.
