I use this recipe every week. I knew it from memory!!

1 pkg of linguine
6 cloves of garlic minced
6 T of sugar
6 T safflower oil
6 T rice vinegar
6 T soy sauce
2 T sesame oil
1-2 t hot chili sauce or red pepper flakes
6 scallions chopped

( I personally find this recipe to have too much oil so I use less)

Heat all the liquids till sugar devolves and pour over the cooked noodles then add the sesame seeds and scallions.

1 (16 oz.) package linguine
6 cloves garlic, minced
6 Tbsp sugar
6 Tbsp safflower oil
6 Tbsp rice vinegar
6 Tbsp soy sauce
2 Tbsp sesame oil
1-2 tsp hot Chinese chili sauce or crushed red pepper flakes
6 scallions, sliced
1 tsp sesame seeds, toasted

Cook linguine according to package directions/ drain and transfer to a large serving bowl.
Combine garlic, sugar, oil, vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil, and chili sauce in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring mixture to boil, stirring constantly, until the sugar dissolves.
Pour over linguine, tossing to coat. Sprinkle with scallions and sesame seeds.

Thank you! I made this for shabbos this week. I am always looking to use rice wine vinegar so this is a keeper.

I made it this week. I sub olive oil for the safflower, BTW. (And I skip the scallions these days as per my kids' request.)

What exactly is safflower oil? Can you something else instead of it? Where do you buy it ?

I use canola or light olive oil. I use about half the amount of oil because I find the recipe to be too oily.

Thank you! I couldn't find my recipe either, and this is very close to the one I used.

If you want, you can use packages of instant ramen, too.

I just wonder how spicy it is with the chili flakes or hot sauce. Can that be left out?
