that's if you usually light at night. if u usually tzind by day then it needs to be lit shabbos by day. motzei shabbos is already sunday. therefore yahrzheit licht is the best.

yahrzheit licht is the best before Shabbos?

For forty days you light a tealight, best is at night cuz shabbos you don't have a problem then. if you do it by day then use a yahrtzeit licht as I explained in previous post. you gotta do it consecutively.

So everyday abt sundown time you light a tealight. But on Friday night you light a yartzeit candle? Why on Friday night does it have to last longer? And what abt Motzaei Shabbos? Do you light afte havdalah when it's already a new day?

the yahrtzeit licht is to ensure that for shabbos day you're covered. motzei shabbos is considered sun. so when you light motzei shabbos it's not covering for shabbos.
I light at night every night before I go to sleep. erev shabbos I tzind a tealight as well cuz it remains lit by the time I usually would've lit it. if you usually light by day you should tzind a yahrtzeit licht

Are you sure it's for 40 days? I thought it's ongoing, every day. That's how I read it. To light every day.

I also thought you take it upon yourself to light continuously, even after you see the yeshua.

But it's not practical to do it for the rest of your life...?
And I do remember reading about 40 days ...

I started lighting last week but this was my first Shabbos doing it so I lit right before licht bentchen and I lit right after shabbos ended but do I light again right before I go to sleep? Like every other night?

Does anyone know if the candles have to be burning for 40 days straight without burning out or is it o.k. for it to burn out and the next day light a new one?
